Tamsin Janu

The Arts

Tamsin’s inspiration to write comes from many of the things she has seen and experienced herself. Her debut junior novel, Figgy in the World, was born from memories of her three month trip to Ghana, West Africa in 2009. Many of the locations and people from this trip are depicted in the novel. The second Figgy novel is entitled Figgy and the President, and the third, Figgy Takes the City.

Tamsin’s newest stand-alone junior novel is Blossom, a fantasy story set in Australia. It follows the adventures of 10 year old Lottie, who one day discovers a strange little girl, Blossom, on her doorstep.
