10K Ideas

student voice matters

10,000 Ideas has been a Halogen initiative since 2010.

Each year, we ask students to think about and record their thoughts on how they would make the world different and captured them on film at our events for secondary schools around Australia. The results are a powerful picture of what is of concern to this generation of young Australians, and an encouraging vision of their desire to alter their future.

It is true that ...right now... these are only ideas. The power to make them reality still sits in the hands of these young people, but importantly, what also sits there, is hope. The same hope that prevents stock markets from crashing every day; The same hope that gets politicians elected to office; The same hope that is present at the start of all human relationships; If the future of our world is going to be different than it is today, hope is a critical element. If these young people have any say in that, the future looks very bright indeed.
